Another Clark Update

CJ and the Webmom
There has been no sign of Clark Kent for several days now. We sadly have come to accept that he is probably gone.

The coyote pack(s) have been coming closer and circling our property for the last week. Three bobcats were sighted, two with babies. The owls have been more active too. One even landed on the roof right above where the Webmom was sleeping and made an eerie, unnatural sound.

More importantly, Clark was very weak after a couple of months of fighting illness. He was not able to catch anything he tried to hunt and needed to drink water often in order to walk (drunkenly).

Clark was neutered as a kitten and loved being outside. He would often sneak out and then play hard-to-get when it came time to come back in.

It was desperation that led Webmom to take Clark outside into the fresh air and sunshine. A last ditch effort to help him survive. It seemed to be working.

Between the time outside and being allowed to eat out of the cat food bag, his eyes glowed with life and he looked happier. He'd go out in the morning after he took his medicine and ate breakfast, then always came home before nightfall. He was always was ready by the door, waiting to be let in.

In spite of all the circumstantial evidence, we've decided to give him a few more days.

We could try to save face say it was because we know that, sometimes, cats disappear for a time. Either because they wander a little too far, they get hurt and hide until they recover enough to come home or they just like being out.

The truth is, we're just not ready to say our final goodbye. =(

Have fun and stay safe,
CJ and the Webmom
