Forgive Your Enemies

"Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much." ~ Oscar Wilde

Although this is sometimes really hard to do, I can say this is definitely true. It will either disarm them immediately because they realize they can't get to you or they'll try harder and - if you keep it up - eventually give up.

Enemies, like bullies, want someone to fight with. If you take the high road, you take that away from them and they wind up with a soul full of disquiet instead.

To help me grasp the concept a little better (I'm visual, I need a picture), I thought of this:

Dog #1: A calm, centered, Cesar Millan-type dog. Going about his business, ignoring the unbalanced dogs around him.

Dog #2: An unbalanced dog who has never heard of Cesar Millan. Chasing his tail or someone else's tail instead.

Which dog would you rather be? The one who keeps on his course, gets where he wants to go and explores what he wants to explore OR the one who expends all his energy focusing on others and their drama?
