How To Die

"If you don't know how to die, don't worry; Nature will tell you what to do on the spot, fully and adequately. She will do this job perfectly for you; don't bother your head about it." ~ Michel Eyquem de Montaigne

Well, I feel so much better now. Don't you? We can relax, kick back with a pina colada (non-alcoholic, if you prefer) and wait for our personal alarm clock to buzz. Yeah, no.

Eek. I know we all have to check out sometime but I am not very comfortable thinking about it. It's one of those I'll-do-my-planning-and-push-it-to-the-back-of-my-mind things.

I'm of the opinion that yes, we'll know when we're dying because - unless we go in our sleep (my personal preference), in a super non-sensory coma or "really instant death" - we'll feel even a small, super quick "WTH (what the hey)?!" and know something isn't right.

So, get your Will, Living Will, Trust, funeral-planning, etc. out of the way and then come join me. I'll be on a hammock in the shade somewhere with that aforementioned pina colada. The alcoholic kind. Trying to enjoy the heck out of each day and avoid thinking about my own d-day.
