"Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much." ~ Oscar Wilde

Although this is sometimes really hard to do, I can say this is definitely true. It will either disarm them immediately because they realize they can't get to you or they'll try harder and - if you keep it up - eventually give up.

Enemies, like bullies, want someone to fight with. If you take the high road, you take that away from them and they wind up with a soul full of disquiet instead.

To help me grasp the concept a little better (I'm visual, I need a picture), I thought of this:

Dog #1: A calm, centered, Cesar Millan-type dog. Going about his business, ignoring the unbalanced dogs around him.

Dog #2: An unbalanced dog who has never heard of Cesar Millan. Chasing his tail or someone else's tail instead.

Which dog would you rather be? The one who keeps on his course, gets where he wants to go and explores what he wants to explore OR the one who expends all his energy focusing on others and their drama?

"Always and never are two words you should always remember never to use." ~ Wendell Johnson

After giggling a little, I stopped and thought about this. We can't always do what we say we will, even if we want to. We won't always have the exact results we expect because life will never be perfect. We will never be perfect.

Yet, how can I agree with the face-value of something yet disagree at the same time? LOL

"Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't." ~ Erica Jong

Come on now, admit it. I can't be the only one who felt a twinge of guilt when I read this, can I? I have a habit of asking people why they asked me for advice if they weren't really willing to hear it. I'm surprised none of them have whipped out a mirror for me to look into. LOL

"A woman is like a tea bag - you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Ahh, another truth. Although I don't think this applies just to women. Men and relationships can be held to this yardstick as well.

Truly, I didn't know how strong I was until I stopped to breathe and took a look back. Surprised the heck out of myself. If I ever get lucky enough to add a little girl to my family, I may have to name her Daphne because jeepers creepers, I - like many of you - have survived a lot. =)

"If you don't know how to die, don't worry; Nature will tell you what to do on the spot, fully and adequately. She will do this job perfectly for you; don't bother your head about it." ~ Michel Eyquem de Montaigne

Well, I feel so much better now. Don't you? We can relax, kick back with a pina colada (non-alcoholic, if you prefer) and wait for our personal alarm clock to buzz. Yeah, no.

Eek. I know we all have to check out sometime but I am not very comfortable thinking about it. It's one of those I'll-do-my-planning-and-push-it-to-the-back-of-my-mind things.

I'm of the opinion that yes, we'll know when we're dying because - unless we go in our sleep (my personal preference), in a super non-sensory coma or "really instant death" - we'll feel even a small, super quick "WTH (what the hey)?!" and know something isn't right.

So, get your Will, Living Will, Trust, funeral-planning, etc. out of the way and then come join me. I'll be on a hammock in the shade somewhere with that aforementioned pina colada. The alcoholic kind. Trying to enjoy the heck out of each day and avoid thinking about my own d-day.

Have you ever felt like you are doing the right thing in the right place at the right time? That's definitely where I'm at today!

What led me here?

Well, that's a long story and if you've known me for a while, you may know a lot about that already. However, last night's prayer session was so powerful and amazing. It was one of those times when you feel the message was meant for you. Like the Lord himself is reaching out and - for once - you can actually hear Him! LOL

The music, the prayer .. and suddenly the pastor looked at me and spoke as if he was psychic. A bit unnerving but exhilarating too. He didn't know it but he gave me the same chapter and verse of both Jeremiah and Isaiah that another prayer group member had given me 3 days before.

Suddenly, being a Life Coach has taken on a whole new meaning. Yes, I will still use the tools, my training and my own "learn from my fail" experiences but now I realized I will also imbue it with my non-denominational faith.

Peace at last. I will be me. All of me. And it feels really, really good. =)

What the heck? The NY Times article, this "story" .. Give me a break. If we weren't moms, they wouldn't be making such a big deal about this.

Every "niche" has it's share of high school type drama. There are many who make money blogging (I don't yet LOL). If it's a guy doing it, he's celebrated. If it's a mom doing it, we get stories about the "dark side".

Ugh.

There's darkness everywhere. Please lay off the moms. We have so much stress already and most of the time, we blog for the sense of community and commiseration.

Wishing you a great day,

Gotta be honest, I don't like the tricks and pranks that come with this day each year but I know many who really enjoy it. I'm going to be hiding in the woods, what will you be doing today?
